Auction Representation / Agency Services

As one of the UK's leading private map dealers, we are frequently in attendance at many of the major UK and European Book and Map auctions. If you do not have the opportunity to be present at these auctions and do not always feel comfortable with the possible purchase of important and material "sight unseen", we can provide the additional comfort and certainty of an expert, detailed and professional assessment of any items of potential interest. We are more than happy to act on your behalf, to inspect and view Auction material for you and if necessary bid in the auction on your behalf as your agent. If successful we can handle the processing and collection of these items from the auctioneers and their forward dispatch to you. We charge a small commission for this service. We will be more than happy to provide further details on request. We can cater for individual or specific requirements.

Appraisals / Valuations

Given the rapid changes in the Antique Map and Atlas market in the last ten or twenty years, it is increasingly important for collectors to be certain they have an accurate and up-to-date insurance valuation of their holdings. By the same token this is equally important for those seeking an appropriate appraisal of items either for probate or with a view to possible resale. We provide a personal and professional appraisal and valuation service covering individual loose sheet maps, collections of maps, complete Atlases or Atlas collections aswell as Globes, related cartographic material and early travel books. We charge on the basis of time and/or a percentage of the final valuation. Please feel free to contact us if you require further information.

Map & Atlas Search Services

Is there a particular individual rare Map or Atlas that you have been consistently looking for and have been unable to locate ? Why not send through the specific details of these items and let us see if we can track them down for you ? Our field of focus is early maps, Atlases & globes principally of the 15th-19th Century so we might not be able to assist you if your interests lie outside these parameters. With our wide network of international contacts we would hope to be able to assist you in tracking down these hitherto elusive items.
